Play Time

Saturday was such a beautiful day, that we decided to take the kids on a picnic. We went and picked up some KFC, and then headed to a park.

This was Houston's first time really playing in a park. He had a blast!
Hunter never runs out of energy!

Our Big Surprise

Towards the end of November I started feeling sick. Lots of things were going around, and I did my very best to take care of myself. After a week I was still feeling very ill. I was tired, nauseated, and just not feeling well. I wasn't too concerned, because Hunter and Halle seemed to have the same thing that I had. Well Hunter got better, but I did not. I called Bekah, to see if Halle was better (praying that she was still sick like me) but she was feeling better.
At this point I thought it would be a good idea to go to my OBGYN. I knew mentally that there could be no possible way that I was pregnant (less then 1%). But, something was just not quite right.
I called the office to get an appointment to check my IUD. They wanted me to wait over a month until to new year to go in, but I expressed to them the urgency of the situation, and they got me in two days later.
Normally when I have a doctor appointment like this one, Jeff usually doesn't come with me, but for some reason, he decided that he needed to be there. We waited for a short while, and then went in to get an ultrasound.
The girl got to work, and immediately started to look for the IUD. She looked for a few seconds, then was silent for a moment, and said. "You are six and a half weeks pregnant!"
My mouth dropped open. I knew that there was a possibility, but I couldn't believe it! I looked at Jeff, and he looked at me, and we both started smiling. This was a miracle baby.
After the doctors office, Jeff and I were walking quietly back to the car. All of a sudden, Jeff raises his fist in the air, and yells, "YEAH." He really thought he was hot stuff.
Ever since then, this pregnancy has been scary and difficult. When I was about thirteen weeks, I had to go to the emergency room. I was bleeding so bad, that in my head I knew that I had to be having a miscarriage. After waiting three hours, we finally got an ultrasound to check on the baby. I have never heard a sweeter sound, then the sound of that baby's heartbeat.
They found that I had a massive blood clot, and put me on modified bed rest. They are worried about pre-term labor, and a bunch of other things. I have to go in every six weeks for an ultrasound, to make sure that the baby is growing right, and nothing else is going wrong.
Well today I went in for another ultrasound. This one, I was extremely excited for. We were going to find out what we were having. This must truly be a miracle baby, because according to two ultrasound doctors, Jeff and I are having our first baby girl!
We are all so excited! Hunter was jumping up and down with joy. He is extra excited, because he picked the name out for a girl.
So this has definitely been an up and down roller coaster. I am in constant fear, that something could go wrong with the baby. So I have to keep telling myself, this is our miracle baby. She has already beaten the odds so many times, and I think that she is going to continue to do so.

Happy Birthday Hunter

Today my oldest son Hunter, turned five. He has been waiting and waiting to turn five. He has made our lives so exciting and fun. Here are some things that Hunter has been up to:
*He has counted all the way to 513. I do have to help him a little bit, he will be counting, and his mind will be thinking of something else, and I have to remind him of what number he is on.
*This last year, Hunter became a big brother. He takes that job very seriously. His little brother Houston just adores him, and tries to act like him.
*He is attending pre-school, and knows all of his letters. He is practicing writing them.
*If you have any questions about Transformers, just ask Hunter, he knows all the names, and if they are a good guy or a bad guy.
*He is one of the most outgoing people that I know. He makes friends everywhere he goes.
*He loves music! Often times, he can tell me the band and the name of the song.
*He has a silver tongue. That boy knows what to say, and when to say it.
Hunter really is just a fun boy to have around. He says and does the funniest things. Often times, when he is getting in trouble, I have a hard time keeping a straight face. I can't wait to see what kind of person he will grow into being. I'm so glad that he came into our lives. I am so proud to be his Mom!

We are Moving! (I Hope)

Well as some of you may have heard, and probably most have not, we are going to be moving at the end of this month. Of course I'm not completely sure, because these things can fall through at any time.
This is actually the second time that we have sold our house, to the same people. The first time, was at the end of January. They made us an offer, and we accepted it. Jeff and I were extremely happy, because our house has been up for sale for a very long time. Well, three days later, our realtor called us, and told us that the people backed out of the sale because they decided that they wanted a different house.
We were not very happy about this, but what can you do?
So last week, I was having lunch with Jeff, and he got a call from our Realtor. He told us, that the same people wanted to buy our house. I guess the other house that they wanted had an IRS lean on it. So the people could not sell it.
We are really excited to be moving, although it is moving along really fast. We have to be out of our house by the end of the month. We don't have another house in mind yet, but lucky for us, Keith and Debbie said we could live with them, until we find one.

My Valentine Baby

On Valentines Day, my little boy Houston turned one. He is growing up so fast! All ready he is playing with the big boys. One of his favorite things to do, is to wrestle with his dad and his older brother Hunter. All three end up in a pile on the floor.

He had a great birthday party on Sunday. We had all his family gather at his Grandma Debbie's house.

As you can see, he really enjoyed his birthday cake. All of his cousins really enjoyed watching him make a mess of himself. He did not disappoint them.

Here is a little clip of Houston and the cake. Hope you enjoy it, as much as I did

Some More Funny Hunter Stories

Hunter's favorite football player is Brett Favre. He loves him. Many times when I ask him to get me something. He will run, grab, and throw it at me. All while saying, "Brett Favre."

I read my wife's stories about my son Hunter and he is ONE FUNNY KID! It made me instantly think of one of the funniest things I've ever heard him say or at least, one of the funniest things that he said to his Grandma Debbie. This happened a little while ago, probably back in June of 2008, and during this time Hunter had learned some new words. After some coaching, he quickly learned that we don't say those words. He learned it so well that he apparently became the teacher. This story has two parts. It started one afternoon that Hunter was being watched by his Grandma. His Grandma Debbie was cleaning the house and and must have dropped something and she mumbled the word 'stupid'. Hunter immediately put one hand on his hip and with his other hand he pointed his finger at Grandma and said, "No Grandma! That is a bad word and we don't say 'stupid', we are not suppose to say 'damn' or 'shut-up' too".

Hearing this story was hilarious, but it got even funnier. The following week Hunter was once again at his Grandma's house, but this day Hunter was being a little stinker. After a fun day at Grandma's house it was time to clean up the toys. Grandma asked Hunter to clean up the toys and Hunter wasn't listening very well, so she this time she told him, "Hunter, pick up the toys". Hunter then started saying one of our bad words, as if he was testing Grandma, "shhhhhhhuuuuuuttttt". He only got through the first half of the word, when his Grandma interrupted him and said "Hunter, don't you say it!" Then instantly Hunter replied with some real attitude. He sort of puffed up his chest and lifted his chin and said, "Grandma, I can say whatever I want too. I can say 'stupid' and 'damn' too.

Another funny thing I remember that Hunter said too me was back in the summer time. Hunter was having one of those days that he asks about 50 questions in a one minute timeframe, so I decided to turn it around on him. I started asking simple questions and following it up his answers with 'Why'.
For example, "Hunter, how old are you?"
"I am 4."
"Why?"
"Because."
"Because Why?"
This went on for about a minute with other random questions thrown in there.
Finally, Hunter had enough. He started walking up the stairs and I asked him one final question, "Where are you going?" "Daddy, I'm going upstairs. I need a break from you."

Kids really do say the funniest things and they are soooo much fun! I recommend that everyone should at least have 1 or 2 of them, if not more!
