Crazy Weather

We have been having some crazy weather here in Utah. Usually this time of the year, it should be in the 80's. We have been having high's in the 60's and 70's. We also have been having lots of rain.
I have to say, that I'm really really glad for the cooler weather. Now, don't get me wrong, I love summer as much as the next person. This year however, I was dreading summer. I was not looking forward to being pregnant in the middle of the hottest time of the year. So I have been very grateful for this rainy weather, for as long as it lasts!
Here are some pictures that Hunter and I took yesterday, after a rain storm.

Lucky Number Seven

So this is about a week late, but better late then never. Jeff and I have been married for seven years. It's hard to believe that it's been so long. I can remember my wedding day, like it was yesterday! All the excitement and happiness! I remember waiting for out turn to be married, and sitting with Jeff while we were waiting. Talking to each other about how soon we would be married! How much I loved and admired that man sitting next to me. Thinking how lucky I was to be his wife. Thinking about our new life together and all the new promises that awaited us.
Well fast forward seven years, and I love Jeff more now then I did then. Back then, he was a man full of promises and hope. Now he is a man who has shown his true potential. He is a wonderful husband, who truly loves his wife and his family. He works tirelessly to provide an amazing life for all of us.
Despite all the work he does and how busy he is, he still maintains his boyish good looks! (They don't call him Boyband for nothing!) He looks just as handsome as he did seven years ago.

I feel very lucky that I am able to build a life with him. We have been through tough times, and even tougher times, but we made it through. Even in the worst times, Jeff can still make me laugh and smile. He is one of the good ones.

Art City Days

This week was Art City Days in Springville. We had lots of fun taking the kids to the different events. One of the first events that we went to was the skating competition. Bekah, Kayla and myself took our kids, (Plus Kayla brought her nephews too) So we had quite the crowd. The kids really enjoyed it, especially because of the free hot dogs and drinks.
On Friday we went to the Children's Art Fair. This is the third year that we have taken them. We had a great time. The first thing we did, was to get Hunter's, Halle's, and Brighton's faces painted. They enjoyed it so much, that they went a second time to get the other cheek painted. Houston and Mash decided to sit the face painting out. We then had to go wait in line for the balloon animals. Kayla and I held the place in line, while Bekah went and did an Art activity with the three oldest. Even after they got back, we still had plenty of time to wait.
Mash made the most of the time, and took a little nap. The rest of the kids posed for pictures, and then finally decided to arm wrestle.

This is the three oldest arm wrestling together. Halle was victorious, and Hunter was a little upset. So then he decided that he would work out to get stronger. Halle and Hunter both started doing push ups. I think they ended at 103.
After all that waiting, we were finally the second place in line. Then they ran out of balloons. We were told that they would have more in an hour.
Well, everyone was ready to go after that.

On Saturday, Jeff and I took the boys to the carnival. It was nice and sunny while we were there. We decided to break tradition, and get a funnel cake instead of a scone. I have to say, that funnel cake was pretty good. Plus one cake feed all four of us.
After our treat, we took Hunter on some rides.

That night, we watched the fireworks. We had a good view, and Houston absolutely loved them! After every fire work, he would point to it, and said, "Wow!"
Overall it was a very fun week. We look forward to it next year.

Sunday Walk

Every Sunday, we take a walk up Hobble Creek Canyon. It is something that I look forward to all week. We walk up to the Golf Course, and get a treat and a drink, then make our way back down. It's just a fun thing that we do together as a family.

The Nestle

This year, Jeff and I thought it would be fun if we ran The Nestle 5k as a family. I had Houston in the running stroller with me, and Jeff ran with Hunter. This was Hunter's first 5k race. As you can see, we had quite the group with us. Kayla and Mash were there. My Mom came and walked with me. Keith and Debbie were racing each other, and my Grandpa came as a last minute entry.
Everyone did great! Hunter had a hard time, especially at the last quarter of a mile, but as soon as he saw everyone smiling and cheering him on at the finish line, he got a big smile on and sprinted to the finish.
Mom and I walked almost the entire time, we ended up running down the hill (the pull of gravity on me was really strong), and then the last quarter of mile. We got to the track, and I told my mom that we should give the people something to look at. It's not everyday that you see an eight month pregnant woman, pushing a running stroller running.
After the race, they had drawings and prizes. Unfortunately we didn't win anything. But there is always next year.

Kayla and Mash. This was Mash's first race.

Hunter got an award for running the race, and being under six years old. He was very proud of his accomplishment.
Debbie also got an award. She took second in her age division. Although her win wasn't quite complete, because Keith beat her by five seconds.
Overall we had a great time! We are for sure going to be running in it next year!
