Harley Rachel Wilson

At five in the morning on July 20, Jeff and I got a phone call. It was the hospital asking if we could be there within the hour. We jumped out of bed, and told them that we would be there. I was finally going to have my baby!
We got there a little before six, and after all the paper work, they got us set up in our room. At about eight, they had everything set up to induce labor. I asked for my epidural right away. I have felt labor contractions, and had no desire to experience those once again.
After getting my epidural, it was just a waiting game. Lucky for us, it wasn't boring. Once they broke my water we called the mom's. Debbie came with Hunter and Houston. My mom came, and of course Kayla and Mash were there.
After that it was more waiting. The nurse would come in periodically to check my progress. It seemed that I was at a four for a very long time. Debbie took the boys to get some lunch. Then all of a sudden I was at a five and a half. Things were starting to happen. The nurse came back twenty minutes later, and told me that I was ready to have my baby. All we had to do now was wait for the doctor to come deliver her.
Jeff immediately called Debbie, and told her to hurry and come back. They beat the doctor.
Doctor Brogerg came in at 2:00. By 2:05 Harley Rachel Wilson was born. She weighed 6lbs and 10 oz. She was 19 1/2 inches long. The doctor told me that she was a very very healthy baby. The first thing that Jeff said to me was, "She looks like you!"
It was a really good thing that Harley was healthy, because unfortunately I wasn't doing so good. With Houston I had problems with bleeding too much. With him they were able to stop it fairly quickly, with Harley it was much harder.
I was able to hold Harley first thing. It just got harder and harder to hold her. I finally asked Jeff to take her. I couldn't hold her anymore. They worked on me for an hour, and I started to get really sleepy. I could hear the nurse reporting my vitals, and my blood pressure and pulse were rapidly dropping. They were getting an operating room ready, with blood on stand by. Somehow before it got any worse, they were able to stop the bleeding. I feel so lucky that I had a very good doctor and nurses staff who took really good care of me.
After that, I drastically improved. I was able to have visitors come in and see our new baby girl! Hunter was immediately smitten by his new sister. Houston likes her, but doesn't really want to touch her. We are so happy and glad that this little girl to come to our family!

This is me waiting and waiting for the big moment!
Debbie made the boys shirts that said, "I love my Harley" on the front. On the back they said, "Big Brother." All the nurses loved them. Especially tiny Houston who was now a big brother.
This is the first picture of Harley.

Lots of Stuff

This has been an especially crazy time in mine and Jeff's life. As most of you know, Jeff and I were building a house in Spanish Fork. Well, it finally got finished! We were so excited. We actually closed on the house on June 18. After much work and stress, we finally officially moved in on June 23.
On June 26 was Jeff's 30th birthday. So to celebrate, he took the day off. We had a good weekend, and even bought a new dining room table. On Monday morning, Jeff was feeling unwell, so he decided to take a sick day. He sent a text message to his boss, but got no reply. After a few hours his boss did call, just to tell him that on Friday everyone was let go, including Jeff. (Good thing he didn't go to work on Friday, or he would have had a really bad birthday)
When Jeff told me that he no longer had a job, I thought that he must be joking. You see, the last time that I was eight months pregnant, Jeff got laid off. So I thought this was a very bad joke. But it was no joke.
Well not to let things get us down, we immediately started looking for new jobs. We didn't have the Internet set up at our new house yet, so we would go up to Keith and Debbie's house to use their computer. That Wednesday, we were on our way when the car's engine started heating up. We pulled over, and the engine-coolant was boiling, We were able to get our car over to Johnson Tire. Turns out that our car is most likely toast. But lucky for us, we have another car that still works. Plus with Jeff not working right now, we really don't need more then one car.
Now I'm not complaining about everything that has happened. I still feel extremely blessed, and know that things will work out the way that they should.
I just wanted to say thank you to all our friends and family who have helped us out in this difficult time. I just hope that one day I will be able to return the favor.

Crazy Weather

We have been having some crazy weather here in Utah. Usually this time of the year, it should be in the 80's. We have been having high's in the 60's and 70's. We also have been having lots of rain.
I have to say, that I'm really really glad for the cooler weather. Now, don't get me wrong, I love summer as much as the next person. This year however, I was dreading summer. I was not looking forward to being pregnant in the middle of the hottest time of the year. So I have been very grateful for this rainy weather, for as long as it lasts!
Here are some pictures that Hunter and I took yesterday, after a rain storm.

Lucky Number Seven

So this is about a week late, but better late then never. Jeff and I have been married for seven years. It's hard to believe that it's been so long. I can remember my wedding day, like it was yesterday! All the excitement and happiness! I remember waiting for out turn to be married, and sitting with Jeff while we were waiting. Talking to each other about how soon we would be married! How much I loved and admired that man sitting next to me. Thinking how lucky I was to be his wife. Thinking about our new life together and all the new promises that awaited us.
Well fast forward seven years, and I love Jeff more now then I did then. Back then, he was a man full of promises and hope. Now he is a man who has shown his true potential. He is a wonderful husband, who truly loves his wife and his family. He works tirelessly to provide an amazing life for all of us.
Despite all the work he does and how busy he is, he still maintains his boyish good looks! (They don't call him Boyband for nothing!) He looks just as handsome as he did seven years ago.

I feel very lucky that I am able to build a life with him. We have been through tough times, and even tougher times, but we made it through. Even in the worst times, Jeff can still make me laugh and smile. He is one of the good ones.

Art City Days

This week was Art City Days in Springville. We had lots of fun taking the kids to the different events. One of the first events that we went to was the skating competition. Bekah, Kayla and myself took our kids, (Plus Kayla brought her nephews too) So we had quite the crowd. The kids really enjoyed it, especially because of the free hot dogs and drinks.
On Friday we went to the Children's Art Fair. This is the third year that we have taken them. We had a great time. The first thing we did, was to get Hunter's, Halle's, and Brighton's faces painted. They enjoyed it so much, that they went a second time to get the other cheek painted. Houston and Mash decided to sit the face painting out. We then had to go wait in line for the balloon animals. Kayla and I held the place in line, while Bekah went and did an Art activity with the three oldest. Even after they got back, we still had plenty of time to wait.
Mash made the most of the time, and took a little nap. The rest of the kids posed for pictures, and then finally decided to arm wrestle.

This is the three oldest arm wrestling together. Halle was victorious, and Hunter was a little upset. So then he decided that he would work out to get stronger. Halle and Hunter both started doing push ups. I think they ended at 103.
After all that waiting, we were finally the second place in line. Then they ran out of balloons. We were told that they would have more in an hour.
Well, everyone was ready to go after that.

On Saturday, Jeff and I took the boys to the carnival. It was nice and sunny while we were there. We decided to break tradition, and get a funnel cake instead of a scone. I have to say, that funnel cake was pretty good. Plus one cake feed all four of us.
After our treat, we took Hunter on some rides.

That night, we watched the fireworks. We had a good view, and Houston absolutely loved them! After every fire work, he would point to it, and said, "Wow!"
Overall it was a very fun week. We look forward to it next year.

Sunday Walk

Every Sunday, we take a walk up Hobble Creek Canyon. It is something that I look forward to all week. We walk up to the Golf Course, and get a treat and a drink, then make our way back down. It's just a fun thing that we do together as a family.

The Nestle

This year, Jeff and I thought it would be fun if we ran The Nestle 5k as a family. I had Houston in the running stroller with me, and Jeff ran with Hunter. This was Hunter's first 5k race. As you can see, we had quite the group with us. Kayla and Mash were there. My Mom came and walked with me. Keith and Debbie were racing each other, and my Grandpa came as a last minute entry.
Everyone did great! Hunter had a hard time, especially at the last quarter of a mile, but as soon as he saw everyone smiling and cheering him on at the finish line, he got a big smile on and sprinted to the finish.
Mom and I walked almost the entire time, we ended up running down the hill (the pull of gravity on me was really strong), and then the last quarter of mile. We got to the track, and I told my mom that we should give the people something to look at. It's not everyday that you see an eight month pregnant woman, pushing a running stroller running.
After the race, they had drawings and prizes. Unfortunately we didn't win anything. But there is always next year.

Kayla and Mash. This was Mash's first race.

Hunter got an award for running the race, and being under six years old. He was very proud of his accomplishment.
Debbie also got an award. She took second in her age division. Although her win wasn't quite complete, because Keith beat her by five seconds.
Overall we had a great time! We are for sure going to be running in it next year!
