A Pirate Party

Before school started this fall, Bekah and I decided to have one last party with the kids, so we put together a Pirate party.  Everyone had to dress up as pirates.  Here is Halle and Brighton as Pirates!
We made each child their own pirate hat.  They each picked out a tattoo to complete their pirate costume.  Here is the pirates Houston and Hunter.
Harley also wanted to join in on the fun.  She made a very cute pirate.
After everyone arrived, and dressed, we were ready to let the games begin.  One of the first games was a race down in the creepy basement.  It was too funny to see all the kids racing around on baby toys.

After the race, the pirates took a minute to relax with Bekah.
The kids played lots of other games.  They had to count the stars in dark room that was only lit by black light.  They each had to take a leap of faith and walk the plank.  Here they had to shoot cannons (balls) at another ship. (basketball hoop)
They then had to go fish for their food.

To end the party, the kids had to go on a real treasure hunt and dig up buried treasure.  This was no easy task!  They first had to fight the evil pirate Bekah, in the playhouse to get the map.  The map lead them through tall weeds and around sticker bushes.  They followed the map and finally found an X clearly marked with stones, in the dirt.  After digging up the X, they found a small box, with a key inside.
Hunter knew exactly were they key went to.  They raced up the stairs, and finally opened their treasure chest.  Inside was the very best kind of treasure: Chocolate, toys, and more tattoos!

We had such a fun time!  The kids loved being pirates for the day!

It was a great way to end the summer!!
