Finally an End in Sight

After a year in the making, an ending is in sight. As many of you know, Jeff and I have had quite the surprising year. It all started out last December, where I had a feeling that my IUD was not in the right place. So just to make sure I muscled my way in to the doctors office to get in checked. (They wanted to make me wait until the middle of January)
They did the usual ultrasound to look for the IUD, and instead found a baby. That was our first surprise. The second was that the IUD was nowhere to be found.
My doctor told me that either I had lost the IUD and didn't notice, (how would you not notice??) or that it perforated my uterus. The odds were very slim that it perforated, and that I had just probably lost it. Unfortunately they couldn't be sure, until after I had the baby. (They couldn't do an x-ray while I was pregnant)
After a really tumultuous pregnancy I finally delivered my baby girl. While I was still recovering in the hospital, they took me downstairs and gave me an x-ray. Low and behold there was the missing IUD. It had gone high and to the left. The doctor told me that they had to wait at least six weeks postpartum, for it to be safe to remove.
Well this Tuesday is the day. I will finally get my IUD out. I won't even have that many new scars. They are going to try to use the same incisions that they used for my appendectomy. I just feel so lucky that things have gone as well as they have. My beautiful baby girl was healthy as can be, and so far I have had no other complications from the IUD perforation.
I am looking forward to being back to my normal self. It will be nice for this roller coaster ride to finally have an ending!

Croup

We have had sick kids in our house recently. With Hunter it was just a sore throat, and little bit of coughing. Nothing that concerned me too much. Then Houston started getting sick. He started sounding like a little frog. I wasn't worried because Hunter had just gone through this, and he was fine.
Yesterday he started sounding a little worse. I started thinking that if it didn't get better I would take him to the doctor.

Harley ~ Hayden ~ Boston

Harley is very lucky to have two cousins the same age as her. This is baby Boston. He is Bekah and Jordan's new son. He was born two weeks before Harley. This is the two of them, right after Boston was blessed.

Harley's other cousin is baby Hayden. He is Jonas and Brooke's baby. He was born about three weeks after Harley. This is the two of them at Grandma's house after dinner.

First Day of School

Today was Hunter's very first day of school! He started kindergarten. I can't believe how fast time has gone by.
Hunter was so excited to start. He had set his clothes out the night before. He had his back pack all set, and his homework done. (Yes he had homework before he started school) When we took him to his class, he barley even noticed us leaving.
After school was finished, he was just full of energy. He is so happy that he gets to go to school tomorrow. I'm glad that he had such a good start to his schooling career.

Camping out Back

Last weekend Jeff and I thought it would be fun to have a small camp out on our new trampoline. So we brought all the bedding out and an assortment of treats, and headed outside. Hunter and Houston were so excited to be sleeping outside and on a trampoline. Jeff was a little less excited, but was an excellent sport about it.
We each told ghost stories, and Hunter especially got into it. Even after the stories were finished, he would ask over and over again, if the stories were true.
After the scary stories, Harley and I went inside to sleep. The three boys stayed outside. We had thought that it was going to be a beautiful night to sleep outside, and we were right for most of the night it was. Unfortunately about two thirty in the morning, it started to rain. Jeff had to hurry and drag the boys in, with all their bedding.
Besides the soggy ending, we all had a great time.

One Month Old

Our little Harley is now one month old. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. She is doing great! She is already doing better at sleeping through the night. She is also a great eater. Although it's hard to tell, because she is still just a little thing.
Her brothers are completely in love with their little sister. Houston will bring me her Binky (without using it first) or one of her headbands. He can already say her name, and is very careful around her.
Hunter can't have enough of her. He wants to hold her all the time. He is also very protective of her. He makes sure that everyone sanitizes before they hold her. When she is crying, he will try to take care of her. He will talk to her in a high pitched voice, and give her her Binky. Harley is very lucky to have two really good big brothers.

Growing Up Fast!

Houston is officially a big kid now. He is now sleeping in a big boy bed. No more crib or play pen. Jeff and I were worried to put him in a bed so young. (He's not a year and a half yet) We really didn't have a choice, unless we wanted to buy another crib. (What would I do with two??) Lucky for us, Houston loves his new bed. I have had no problem putting him down. Houston just loves being like his big brother, and having a bed like him.

It is amazing to me how fast time goes by. It only seems like yesterday that Hunter was trying to ride his tricycle, and his feet couldn't quite touch the peddles. Now that we have moved, and his bike came out of storage, Hunter has learned to ride his bike without training wheels.
It didn't take him long, and soon he will be ready to go on bike rides with Jeff and I. I'm very proud of my oldest son. He is growing up right before my eyes.
